A young Henry Pacholl.

This excerpt and photo was taken from a Nobles County Veterans book:

Private First Class, Co. K, 357th Infantry, 90th Division. He entered the service on April 29, 1918. He trained at Camp Dodge, Iowa. Henry fought the last 6 months of WWI in the following battles:

  • St. Mihiel - September 12-16, 1918
  • Argonne

He was wounded at the Battle of Argonne and died on October 25, 1918 - just two weeks before the armistice on Nov. 11th. He is buried at:

Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery
Romagne, France
Buried at: Plot H Row 26 Grave 15
Gravestone: Henry B. Pachool (spelled incorrectly)

The Pacholl/Moser VFW Hall in Wilmont MN was named after Henry. Henry Pacholl was the last to die in WWI and Joseph Moser was the first to die from the town in WWI.

If anyone has other pictures of Henry, especially in military uniform, they would be appreciated.
