The Pacholl Family Tree

Below is the lineage of the Pacholl family that emmigrated to the United States, originating from Johann Pacholl.

This site is a collaboration from all Pacholls. If you have any additional information to what is here, please e-mail me and I will post it. Photos are also welcomed.

If you are in this genealogy and would like a link to your website, let me know and I will add it to this page.

The Beginning

Johann Pacholl lived in Elditten, East Prussia (Ostpreussen). He married Barbara, and their children were born in Elditten. There are conflicting stories on how they came to the United States. All stories agree that Andrew (their son) came over first, and other family members followed.

  • One version of the story says that Andrew came to the United States in 1880. Albert possibly came with him - or followed him later.

  • Another version of the story says that Andrew came over in 1887. Their son John was born in Brooklyn in 1889, so Andrew would have met his wife Catherine and married in that short span of time. See more on this story in the ships of immigration link below.

Unknown Pacholls

The following Pacholl references have been found, but cannot be connected or verified. Any information would be appreciated:

  • The Ellis Island records show an Andreas and Francisca Pacholl arrived in 1908. She was 17, and Andreas was 47, which would have made him the same age as Andrew Pacholl above. Francisca is possibly the daughter of Valentine, and possibly moved to North Dakota.
  • Maria Katharina Pacholl b-1865. She married Frederick Sabrowski in Germany. Her parents were Michael Pacholl and Euphrosina Kuhn. She was from East Prussia, Olstzyn province, Mehlsack town. She was Roman Catholic. They immigrated in 1895 from a town (Barnewitz) close to Berlin, Germany to Chicago, Illinois. They did not go through Ellis Island. They relocated to Rib Lake, Wisconsin for a short time before settling in Terry, Montana in 1912.

  • Santa Clara County Historical and Genealogical Society mentions a Christine Pacholl associated with Emma Ellen Naucke, an early settler. The Early Settler Files contain information submitted to the society about people who were in Santa Clara County, CA by 1925. This could possibly be related to Fred Pacholl.
