Old Elditten

Elditten was in a region of East Prussia called Ermland, also known as Warmia. This area was predominantly Catholic and the inhabitants spoke German. See section below on Ermland.

The inscription on the map and doesn't quite make sense because I used a free German to English translation:

Mathematician Johannes Friedrich Endersch in 1755 in Elbing created the geographic card of the diocese Ermland in Prussia that Tabula Geographica Episcopatum Warmiensem in Prussia Exhibiens drawn. On it, offices, cities, villages and mill of the Ermlands are indicated. The topography is indicated in the manner corresponding to the at that time time. Especially jewelry full the insignia are and crest as well as the city panorama healthy mountain in the lower left part of the card.

Heilsberg county/district was in a region of East Prussia called Ermland. Ermland was a region extending from the Baltic Sea to far inland. It was ceded to Poland in 1466 by the Teutonic Knights. At the time of the first Partition of Poland (1772) Ermland became part of the kingdom of Prussia. In the treaty of Warsaw (September 18, 1773), King Fredrich II guaranteed the free exercise of religion for the Catholics of the annexed provinces.

It ceased existence in 1945 after WWII.
