Mathilda (Pacholl) and Theodore Duwenhoegger

Mathilda (also spelled Matilda) Pacholl was born to Johann and Barbara Pacholl in 1875 in Elditten. Theodore was born in Westphalia and came with his parents to Adrian MN in May 1881.

Mathilda married Theodore Duwenhoegger in November of 1894, in St. Kilian MN. He was the brother of Joseph Duwenhoegger who married Anna Pacholl (Mathilda's sister).

They farmed in MN until 1913. Then, they moved to North Dakota and purchased a farm in Mantador, ND. Mantador is about 50 miles south of Fargo, in the south east corner of the state near the MN border. It is also near Lidgerwood. I found a reference listing on a Centennial book for Lidgerwood of Richland County, North Dakota.

This is the farmhouse in Mantador. In the farmhouse, there were 5 bedrooms and a very large dining room. They lived in the farm until 1940, then they moved to Wahpeton (which is right on the border of MN). They lived out their years near Minneapolis. Alfred and Albert were still working the farm in 1944.
