HALLOWEEN PARTY

Lots of great costumes -The girls made snacks - "witch's hand" with candy corn fingernails and popcorn, and a lemon sherbet/orange soda drink.

THANKSGIVING

 BREAK

We had fun at the movies - we saw "Toy Story 2" over Thanksgiving Break - November '99.

INVESTITURE

Three girls joined our troop - they were twisted and turned and made to look into the "pond" to see themselves - new Brownies.

TOS

Our November Nut sales provided us with lots of fun and a great profit.
CAROLING

In December '99, We entertained our neighbors as we strolled down the streets holding candles and singing holiday songs. Then we sang more songs and had refreshments with  a fire circle.
ICE SKATING PARTY

Over our holiday break, we went ice skating at the Iceoplex. Some of us traded our figure skates for hockey skates - wider boot, no toe pick - smoother skating! Afterwards we enjoyed hot cocoa.

TEA PARTY

For Thinking Day in February '00, the troop voted to learn about England. We found out about girl guides, their promise and their laws, "English words", and songs.  We celebrated by having a "Tea of Two Party" - English style.

COOKIE SALES

Cookie sales were phenomenal in the new millennium.
SKILLS DAY - HAWTHORNE NEIGHBORHOOD

We participated at Skills Day with neighboring Girl Scout Troops.  Older girls taught us how to tie ropes, build a camp fire, handle pocket knives, mark trails, and learn a new song.

iEl Segundo Girl Scouts had a chance to spend a night out with dad - at the Father Daughter Dance.
AMIGAS NUEVAS

The weather was perfect for hiking, creek wading, and camping overnight.

SKILLS DAY

 EL SEGUNDO

Troop 740 sponsored Skills Day to help us earn the "Me and My Shadow" Try it.
SURPRISE EVENT

After each troop "scavenger hunted" the neighborhood for a list of household items, we had a picnic at one of our local parks. Thanks to sponsor Troop 812 for a fun afternoon.
BRIDGING CEREMONY

Eight girls earned their bridging patches and received their wings to become Junior Girl Scouts. After each girl crossed a small wooden bridge, she removed her brownie vest and donned her new junior vest.
FAMILY PICNIC

In June '00, our final "meeting" was a picnic - friends and family were invited. All troop members were presented with a memory book (pictures, artwork, attendance and "try its earned" sheets, etc.) and a picnic patch.

JULY GET TOGETHER

A beautiful day spent at El Segundo Beach - sun, surf, and snacks.

AUGUST GET TOGETHER

Our troop got to meet our penpal - Girl Guide Kara, who, with her family (dad, mom and sister) traveled from England to visit the USA. It began when Kara noticed our web page and found a girl in our troop with the same name. Our Kara's family hosted a swim & pizza party at their home in August '00.

OSITO RANCHO

Several Troop Members chance to visit our Angeles Girl Scout Camp at Big Bear August '00.

Activities included swimming, horseback riding, canoeing, making crafts, climbing ropes, hiking, and  archery.
