Return to Troop 150 Home Page

We had our first meeting in September and worked on the "Plants Try It".

In October we earned our "Math Fun Try It". For our Halloween party, we made edible graham cracker spiders  and played lots of games.

In November we had our Investiture Ceremony - 3 new girls joined our troop.

We made Christmas ornaments for the Bob Porter project.

Brownie members enjoyed selling nuts to earn lots of money for troop activities.

During Thanksgiving Break, we went to see a movie "A Bug's Life".
We worked on the "Food Fun Try it".

December was a very busy month for us.

We earned our "Art to Wear Try It".

We marched in the Main Street Parade.
We sang carols at "Candy Cane" Lane with other girl scout troops. In February, we earned the "Around the World Try It."

In March, we attended the Surprise Event - Breakfast at the Moose Lodge - cereal, donuts and juice were served.
Everyone had fun singing girl scout songs. Here is a picture of some of us at the event.

During March we earned the "Senses Try It".

In April, we participated at Skills Day with other El Segundo Girl Scout Troops. We earned the "Ready Set Go Try It".

In March we completed our cookie sales and had fun selling at our booth.
In May we worked on the "People of the World Try It". We learned about helping people and participated in "Good Turn Day" by donating clothes to Goodwill Industries. At one of our meetings, we were Hawaiians - made leis, danced the hula, tasted pineapple and macadamia nut cookies, and learned some Hawaiian words.

We also enjoyed the Father/Daughter Dance - everyone dressed Hawaiian and had fun dancing to Rock and Roll.

We earned the "Puppets, Dolls and Play Try It".

In  June '99 we went to our Neighborhood Encampment at Malibu Creek State Park.   This yearly encampment is called Amigas Nuevas (New Friends).  We earned the "Outdoor Fun Try It".

Eight girls attended our "Buddy Party" - they created felt finger puppets and made twirling boomerangs.
Our guests were a wonderful audience as the troop members rehearsed for the talent show.
After pizza and ice cream, one of the buddies asked if she could participate in the talent show rehearsal.
A Brownie vote was taken with unanimous results - we agreed that the buddies should get a chance to entertain us.
Their singing and cheering were fun additions to our Brownie party.

Our final Brownie meeting combined a Rededication Ceremony and a Talent Show for family and friends.
Congratulations and thanks to all for a very successful Brownie year.
SUMMER SLEEPOVER   We met in July '99 for a sleepover.  Some troop members who had already earned the "Ready, Set Go Try It" helped those who were unable to attend Skills Day earn this try it.

BEACH FUN  In August '99, we traveled to the Cabrillo Museum in San Pedro to learn about sharks. After viewing many different sea creatures (we loved the jelly fish), we frolicked on the beach making sand castles.
