The Green monkeys on Barbados came from West Africa with the slave traders in the 17th and 18th centuries.  They say there are approximately 15,000 African Green monkeys on Barbados today (they live in the "wild" areas of the island, generally away from people.)  However, we saw a troop of 5 (a mother and 4 offspring apparently) twice outside our hotel room, as well as a male swinging in the trees once.  Lucky for us Casuarina Beach Club is essentially an 8 acre nature preserve where the monkeys find a natural habitat they like:

Anyone wanting a very relaxing tropical vacation away from it all, and a little adventure to boot, we HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY (did I emphasize that enough?) recommend the Casuarina Beach Club on the island of Barbados, in the West Indies, Caribbean.
