Key Components of a Golf Swing

* Stabilization
Movement is initiated from a stable source, the core. During the conditioning program clients learn to consistently focus on the center of the body and stabilize through muscle opposition. Most athletes can produce the force required for hitting a ball but they control eccentrically; produce inefficient movement and increase stress in opposing planes of movement and joints.

* Balance
The goal of a Golf fitness conditioning program is not to improve strength in isolated muscle groups, but is rather to elicit improvement in the multidirectional multidimensional neuromuscular kinetic chain within complex motor patterns. In other words, it's the muscles working together which produce a good golf swing, not pumped, ripped pecs or biceps.

* Concentration and Posture
The mind, body connection is emphasized throughout the conditioning program. A focus on exercise, performed with awareness, allows the mind and body to perform their optimum work as a team. Continuous awareness is a major part of improving posture.

* Breathing and Movement
The Core training program retrains patterns of breathing that are connected with the structure of movement. Conditioning emphasizes awareness of breathing patterns which in turn ensures a free flow of cleansing oxygen throughout the body, improves circulation and helps to avoid unnecessary tension in the muscles.

* Flexibility
The golfer's full range of motion of the joints will change from week to week; if there are weakened areas, the individualized fitness program and structured conditioning will promote healing and reduce the effects of chronic injuries.

* Strength
Golf is a demanding sport. The golf swing is an extremely high-speed, torquing movement that needs optimal muscular strength in the entire body, especially the abdominals and lower back.
A golf fitness session lasts one hour and in that hour we cover the five aspects which are mentioned above. The best results are seen in clients that train 3-4 times per week. Results will be seen in a short space of time and I know that your golf game will improve and that you will start feeling better and healthier from the first week.
